To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Citydev.Brussels, Belgian Urban Sketchers are meeting around the projects of citydev.brussels for “sketchwalks” in the city of Brussels (of course ;)) with invited “renowned” artists:

  • Heyvaert district, in Anderlecht and Molenbeek, on April 20, 2024, with Vincent Andrieu (France)
  • Tivoli/Dubrucq district in Brussels (Laeken) and Molenbeek, on May 3, 2024, with Reham Ali (Egypt)
  • Rive Gauche district (around Comte de Flandre metro) in Molenbeek on June 15, 2024, with Ch’ng Kiah Kiean (Malaysia)

The revitalization of these neighborhoods, their rich industrial heritage, their vibrancy and unique identity… will be the subjects of drawings that will later circulate on social networks.

All sketchers who wish to participate following the principles of urban sketching, regardless of their level and technique, are welcome with their equipment.

For the people of Brussels:

  • Highlighting their neighborhood and its history, a positive animation.

For the artists:

  • Interactions with many Belgian and foreign visitors active in an international network.

This is again especially the opportunity to:

  • Show Brussels, drawing by drawing, with all are different points of view !

Don’t hesitate to go and explore and sketch other CityDev.Brussels sites and publish them on social media ! You can find a lot of them on their website: https://www.citydev.brussels/fr

As you can see we invited on purpose 3 very different artists, so we can experience different artistic challenges!
